Elegant 9 1/4" Pecan Natural Edge Bowl
There
is a certain elegance to a natural edged bowl such as this one turned from
pecan wood. Pecan does have a certain
natural beauty to it that needs no help.
The bowl measures 9 ¼” at the widest point, 7 ½” at the narrowest. It is 3 ½” at the highest point, 2” at the
lowest, and is 1 ½” deep. The volume
measures 2 cups up to the bark. The bark
was helped to stay in place with clear glue and shellac. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut
oil. Then it was finished with a walnut
oil/shellac mixture. With a combination
such as this the bowl receives a nice hard long lasting natural finish. Though the bowl does hold liquids and does it
well, it was more meant for holding nuts, candies, fruits, etc. 31Mar18
