13 1/4" Cottonwood Serving Bowl
Cottonwood, which is in the poplar family, has a
subtle beauty about it which can be an eye catcher. With creamy color with the grays mixed in,
you really have a nice looking bowl.
This bowl may have many uses in a household. They range from a centerpiece bowl to a
serving bowl for veggies and such to even a large popcorn bowl. This wood is a relatively soft wood but you
will find it to be quite durable.
Measuring to the brim this bowl holds ¾ gallons of liquid. The outside diameter is 13 ¼” with the inside
being 11 ½”. The height comes to 3 ¼”
and the depth 2 ½”. Being a soft wood
this bowl only weighs 3 lbs. The wood
was sealed with a couple of coats of food grade walnut oil and then finished
with a walnut oil/shellac mixture. Using
a combination such as this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural
finish. You will find a nice rim for
holding the bowl with as well. I can
picture this bowl sitting in your lap full of great tasting popcorn! 10Apr18

A very nicely coloured and useful bowl. This bowl is of a nice size and as a nice shape. Beautifully turned and finished and I think people will find it very useful.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon! Glad you like it. I still have probably about 3 tons of this wood in the yard so there will certainly be more as time goes along. Bowls such as this usually get some attention, but we shall see how long it lasts. Take care!
