Oh, yeah. This is a spiffy little bowl for sure! Turned from amazing hackberry, it is a great
bowl for nuts and candies and other tasty little treats. Some might even use it as a candle holder for
2-4” diameter candles. Lots of uses and
beautiful. The natural colors along with
great looking spalting lines make this bowl a real winner. The shape is unusual as well. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut
oil and then the bowl was finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture. Then the bowl was buffed at high speed. The diameter is 7 ½” and the width is
6”. The height measures at 3” and the
depth comes to 1 ½” measured to the low point on the sides. The volume measures out to 2 cups to the low
brim of the bowl. Have this bowl sitting
on your desk or dining table and it will get attention. Might even use it as a catch all bowl for
keys and change on a sideboard.

Who would not be able to fall in love with this bowl. A beautiful shape and that colour combined with the spaulting is just lovely. I myself would use it for a catch all type of bowl, I myself would not put a candle in it, in case the candles wax gets on the beautiful wood, but that's just me, we are all different in our uses for items. Well turned my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Les! I wouldn't put a candle in it either. But, somebody might. Not sure just what I would use it for myself, but I probably would put some pistachios in it, or cashews. I really am trying to stay away from them darned M&M's. It's hard, but I'm working on it.
