Turned from naturally beautiful
pecan wood, you have all the elegance in this bowl that you could ask for. If you took this bowl and put it in the
center of your table, folks are gonna be impressed. Simply impressed and are wanna know where you
got it. The grain patterns in this wood,
along with the colors make it really stand out.
The bowl has it’s own natural defects in the wood that I may have
reinforced, but left looking as natural as possible. The diameter is a whopping 10” with a height
of 5 ¼” and a depth of 3 ¼”. The volume
measured to ¾ gallon. The bowl held
water for measuring just fine. The wood
was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a mix of walnut
oil and shellac. This combination gives
the bowl a nice hard natural finish that will last a long time. 25Sep19

New Equipment for Shop
Been planning on doing this for some time and finally broke down, spent the money, and bought some new power tools for my wood turning shop. First and foremost was a new and heavy duty lathe.
Then came a new band saw.
Of course one must have a new air compressor!
Also decided to add a knife and tool belt sharpener/grinder. Gonna have to take a better photo of this. Sorry.
And, seeing my large old Stihl 440 Magnum finally bit the dust, it needed a replacement for larger log cuts. So, here is the new addition to the chain saws. A Stihl 311.
