It is so easy for me to make a bowl from pecan look good! All I have to do is shape it, dry it, sand it, and finish it. All the goods looks of the wood came naturally to it. I had nothing to do with that. All of that goes to Mamma Nature. This bowl is surely heirloom quality that should be passed on from generation to generation. The wood is extremely durable and will hold up to the tests of time with proper care. Care instructions are included with purchase. The diameter of this bowl is 12” with a height of 3 ¼” and a depth of 2 ¼”. The base is sorta thick to give the bowl needed stability. The volume measured out to ¾ gallons. That is a lot of salads, veggies or whatever else you put in it. The weight of the bowl is about 2 ½ pounds. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a couple of coats of a walnut oil based wax. This combination gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. Do not pass up on this one. 5Mar18 BLP183 For more info see:

What can I say about this bowl because the wood says it all for you. The turner adds his help by making sure it has a nice shape and a good finish which you have always done my friend. It is always a good idea to leave the base with a good thickness after all you don't want anything you put in it or take out tipping it over. Well done, I like it.
ReplyDeleteYep! You are right, Les. Glad you like it and certainly appreciate your comments. Even though you are not turning anymore, you still have the skills and knowledge that add that much more to what you say. Take care my friend!
