10" White Oak Serving Bowl

Large Red Oak Centerpiece Bowl

Is it possible that someone would think that this is not a great looking centerpiece bowl?  I doubt it.  And, with it being turned from gorgeous red oak who do you think can pass this bowl up?  It is also fitting to note that this is the 75^th bowl turned from red oak.  You will find a nice lip to add to the appeal.  There is a small amount of natural edge with this bowl.  One of the things that is so impressive about this bowl is the capacity of it measuring at one gallon.  That will hold a lot of salad, fruits and nuts, and if you so desire popcorn.  You might decide to use this as a large family sized popcorn bowl.  The diameter is 13” and the height is 4”.  The depth is just a bit over 3”.  You will find a wide ring on the bottom for decorative purposes.  The wood was first sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture heavy on the shellac.  Using this combination gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  21May18  BLRO75

Naturally Gorgeous Pecan Pedestal Bowl

7" Square Pecan Bowl

Now and then I try to bring something a bit different, and here it is!  A square bowl!  It is unique and since it is turned from beautiful pecan wood it is also quite good looking.  You have the makings of a knot on one corner that I decided needed no help in the way of added color.  Now I am not going to claim that it is perfectly square but it close enough.  A rustic beauty for sure, and it even holds a nice 3 cups measured to the brim.  It is basically 7” square, 3 ¼” high, and has a depth of 2 ½”.  I thought it sorta fitting that the photos be taken with it full of pecans.  The wood was first sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture.  A combination such as this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  This bowl may be used for displaying nuts or candies or even used as a unique serving bowl.  11May18  BLP188   For more info see:

9 1/2" Rustic Gem Pecan Bowl

There is no doubt in my mind that this awesome pecan bowl is a rustic gem in the truest sense.  The minor cracking, the knot hole on the outside, and the natural coloration make this a true winner.  This will look really good sitting in the middle of your table full of fruits and other tasty treasures.  The volume of this bowl measured at ½ gallon to the brim.  That doesn’t mean you can’t pile more in it!  Smashed spuds and some salads will pile nicely in this bowl.  The diameter is 9 ½” with a height of 3 ¼” and a depth of 2 ¾”.  The wood was first sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture.  This gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  Some of the cracks were filled with natural pecan dust and clear glue.  Just enough to seal them and keep the rustic appeal of the bowl.  28Apr18  BLP187  For more info:

7 1/4" White Oak Bowl

When you see a bowl like this one there is a certain amount of wow factor.  The natural color of white oak makes it really stand out from other woods.  Some might say it is too small but let’s get serious about this.  Not that many folks need a huge bowl.  Most households have small to medium sized dining tables.  So, this bowl is actually just right for most people.  It is 7 ¼” in diameter, 2 ¾” high and 2 ¼” deep.  Don’t let the size fool you as it does have a capacity of 3 cups measured to the brim.  That is more than you might think.  The wood was sealed with a couple of coats of food grade walnut oil and then finished with a mixture of walnut oil and shellac.  This gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  You will find some small minor cracking here and there which is typical of this wood so don’t let that bother you.  They just add to the rustic appeal.  22Apr18  BLWO8  For more info see:

Spiffy Pecan Natural Edge Bowl

This has got to be the most spiffy nut or candy bowl that you can own!  The natural beauty of pecan wood and add a full ring of bark, this bowl is hard to beat.  It is more spacious that it looks.  The bowl holds 3 cups measuring it to the brim of the bark.  The bark was reinforced with clear glue to help keep it in place.  The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil.  Then it was finished with clear high gloss spray shellac.  The spray was used in an extra effort to help keep the bark in place.  The outside diameter is 6 ¾” with an inside diameter of 4 ¾”.  The highest point is 3 ¾” and the lowest is 3” with a depth of 2 ½”.  This is without a doubt a one of a kind piece.  20Apr18  NEP34  For more info see:
