9 1/2" Rustic Gem Pecan Bowl
There
is no doubt in my mind that this awesome pecan bowl is a rustic gem in the
truest sense. The minor cracking, the
knot hole on the outside, and the natural coloration make this a true winner. This will look really good sitting in the
middle of your table full of fruits and other tasty treasures. The volume of this bowl measured at ½ gallon
to the brim. That doesn’t mean you can’t
pile more in it! Smashed spuds and some
salads will pile nicely in this bowl.
The diameter is 9 ½” with a height of 3 ¼” and a depth of 2 ¾”. The wood was first sealed with food grade
walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture. This gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting
natural finish. Some of the cracks were
filled with natural pecan dust and clear glue.
Just enough to seal them and keep the rustic appeal of the bowl. 28Apr18
