Beautiful Pecan Pedestal Bowl

I have never met a person who did not like pecan wood.  The natural coloration of the wood makes it really stand out from others.  And it is dense enough to enable it to last a lifetime.  This pedestal style bowl has many possible uses for you to consider.  As pictured it may be used as a nut bowl, or a candy bowl, small fruits bowl, and on and on.  Use it with confidence as the wood was first sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil based wax.  The finish is  totally renewable when needed with olive oil.  The diameter of the bowl is 6 ¾” with a height of 3 ½” and a depth of 2 ½”.  The volume of the bowl measured out to be 3 cups.  Certainly one of a kind so try not to pass this up!  22Sep17  BLP167  For more info see:

Just Letting Folks Know

I want all to know I am not being lazy.  Pieces are being done right now but mainly I am concentrating on getting some inventory ready for a small church festival I was invited to.  Having to concentrate mainly on small pieces as that is the advice I have been given for this event.  I will take some larger pieces just for variety but mainly smalls.  OK.  So much for FYI.  I will post a couple of photos around mid week on some of them.

Ornate Pecan Hollow Form Pedestal Bowl

Without a doubt this piece is certainly ornate.  And naturally, too!  Look at all the colors in this bowl and you will see what I mean.  And to add a natural rustic appeal to the piece there is a nice looking knot towards the base.  Now I am no one to tell you what to put in this bowl but I guarantee it will look just fine full of nuts or candies and other tasty treats.  And seeing it holds a whopping 6 full cups to the brim that is a lot of goodies.  The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture heavy on the shellac for more sheen.  With a combination like this the bowl gets a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  The measurements are 7” in outside diameter and 4 ½” inside lip diameter.  The height is 5 ½” and the depth measured at 3 ¾”.  Certainly a one of a kind piece that will match with any décor.  9Sep17  BLP161 For more info see:

7 3/4" Pecan Pedestal Candy/Nut Bowl

This pedestal bowl turned from pecan is just right for smaller tables or even for your desk.  Of course I am presuming that if you have it sitting on your desk full of goodies like M&M’s that you are willing to share them.  Or are you one who enjoys torturing folks with them.  Shame on you.  But you might decide to fill it with pistachios, other nuts or even potpourri.  The uses for a bowl like this are limitless.  It measures 7 ¾” in diameter, 3 ¼” high, and 1 ¾” deep.  The volume measured out to be 3 cups to the brim.  The wood was first sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a mixture of walnut oil and shellac.  This combo gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.  9Sep17  BLP162 For more info see:
