This stand out of beautiful pecan
wood is a first. I have done several
pastry/cupcake stands, but this one has a dish or tray on the bottom. Hopefully more like this will be coming. The natural colors of this wood make it a
great piece to have anywhere in your house.
The top diameter is 7 ¾”, the bottom diameter is 6”. The total height is 4 ¼”. The depth of the bottom dish or tray is ½”. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut
oil and then finished with straight shellac.
Using a combination like this gives the sand a nice hard long lasting
natural finish. 5May19 SDP60

This turning I have never seen done before and over many years going to shows I have not seen anything quite like it. It reminds me of a small stool ( you will have to excuse me Dave I think I am cracking up haha ). Seriously I like it, a very useful item to have in the kitchen or any where else. Lovely colouration and well turned. You will not have this on your shelves for long my friend, well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Les! I thought it to be unusual. Or different. Glad you liked it. More will be coming along I am sure.
