Lovely Cottonwood Pedestal Bowl
The natural beauty of cottonwood has a certain subtleness to me. The creamy light wood with the gray mixed in makes it stand out really nice. One of the other benefits to cottonwood is it is very lightweight for those who might have arthritis issues and such. After being kiln dried it is also durable. This particular pedestal bowl holds 5 cups measured to the brim. The diameter is 9 ¾” with a height of 3” and depth of 1 ¾”. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a couple of coats of walnut oil based wax. This mix gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish.
