This 6 sided bowl turned from
beautiful pecan wood truly is exquisite.
After all, take a look at the grain patterns along with the spalting
lines that Nature added. The bowl holds
a useful 2 ½ cups. That is a pretty fair
amount of pistachios or other tasty goodies.
The diameter of the bowl is 7 ½” with a height of 2 1/2” and a depth of
1 ¾”. The wood was sealed with food
grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture. Using this combination gives the bowl a nice
hard long lasting natural finish. Great
bowl for nuts, candies, and even as a catch all bowl for keys and change. 4Dec18

A two toned light brown colouration with six sides...super. These type of bowls and not many people, unless you are a woodturner, know how at times how difficult they can be to do. But I think you have mastered how to do them judging by the photos. The shape of this bowls sides and base are also nicely done. Overall another winner my friend.
ReplyDeleteHowdy, Les! I like turning these. The challenge is satisfying. And, people like them so that makes it that much better. Take it easy, my friend!
