If you are looking for an unusual
centerpiece bowl, here it is. If it
needs to be different in shape, but hold a fair amount, look no further. This winged bowl turned from cedar elm, also
known as Texas Elm is really naturally beautiful.
So the word ornate describes it well.
The grain pattern and the tiny knot holes just add to the beauty and
rustic appeal of this bowl. It measures
9” long, 7 ¼” wide, 3” high and has a depth of 2 ¼”. The volume measured at 4 cups to the
brim. But go ahead and pile the nuts and
candies until they fall off the top!
OK. Small fruits, peppers, little
tomatoes, and other tasty treats as well.
The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil. The bowl was finished with a glossy
micro-crystalline wax. It holds up well
to usage. 15May19 BLCE7

Nice really nice. Lovely light colouration and a truly nice shape. I hope you did not get any rapped knuckles Dave while doing the turning. I like this winged bowl, very nice.
ReplyDeleteHi, Les! Knuckles are still intact, though there were times I could definitely feel the wind coming off of it!
