Serious Pecan Craft Mallet
This is one serious mallet turned from pecan wood for one someone into woodworking or other crafts that require a mallet. I use mallets like this in my shop and I even pound steel drive centers into wood with them without any damage to the mallet. With pecan being such a durable wood this mallet should last a lifetime. I did burn 3 lines into the handle for decorative purposes that seem to add to the attractiveness of this piece. The wood was sealed with two coats of walnut oil to add to the durability of the mallet. The total length is 9 ¼” with a handle length of about 6 ¼”. The head is 3” long and the diameter of the head is 3 ¼”. The handle diameter is 1 ¼” and the mallet weighs 1 ½ pounds. The diameter of the handle was meant for a fairly large hand. 31Jan18 MP4 For more info see:

6 1/2" Pecan Candy/Nut Pedestal Bowl
You might think that this bowl is so good looking that it would be bad to put something in it. Well, OK. But I have no problem with it being full of candies, nuts and other tasty treats. With the natural coloration of the pecan wood, it is a gorgeous bowl for sure. The bowl holds a nice 2 cups measured to the brim. The diameter is 6 ½” with a base diameter of 2 3/4”. The height comes to 2 ½” with a depth of 1 ½”. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with 2 coats of a walnut oil based wax. Using a combination like this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. 28Jan18 BLP181 For more info see:

Classic 10 1/4" Pecan Serving Bowl
This is truly a classic styled pecan wood serving bowl. The lines are simple and clean and it has a slight lip to it. The natural coloration of the wood really makes this bowl stand out. From time to time I will add some crushed turquoise to a piece or burn some lines in it for decorative reasons but not with this bowl. I think I would be shooting myself in the foot if I did that. This is a medium sized bowl as the diameter is 10 ¼” with a height of 2 ½” and a depth of 1 ¾”. Rather on the spacious side the volume measures to be 5 cups. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with several coats of a walnut oil/shellac mixture. Then it was buffed while spinning at a high speed. Using a combination such as this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. As the catalogue number suggests this is the 180th bowl I have turned from pecan wood. 23Jan18 BLP180 For more info see:
9" Pecan Serving Bowl
Folks have heard me say that everybody needs a bowl but not everybody needs a large bowl. And, this lovely bowl turned from pecan is a case in point. With a diameter of 9” it is not going to take up a lot of table space. But, with the height being 1 ¾” and depth 1 ¼” it does hold 3 cups of liquid measured to the brim. So it is rather spacious as well. Even though this bowl is really nice to look at it is also meant to be used. After all the wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with several coats of a walnut oil/shellac mixture being heavy on the shellac for more sheen. A combination such as this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. After all of that it was buffed at a high speed. 23Jan18 BLP179 For more info see:

Versatile 7 3/4" Cottonwood Jar
You might ask what I mean when I say this jar is versatile. Well, think about it. You may put cookies In it, or candy, or even nuts as in the photos. There is no limit to what you might put in it and the volume measures to a whole 4 cups. Personally I’d use it to hide my personal stash of M&M’s. The wood was sealed with 2 coats of food grade walnut oil and then finished with, well several coats of a walnut oil/shellac mixture. Not sure how many coats were applied to it. This combination gives the jar a nice hard long lasting natural finish. The diameter of the jar is 7 ¾” and the total height is 4”. The vessel height is 3 ¼” and the vessel depth is 2 ½”. The unique color of the wood along with some spalting that Mamma Nature added to the mix make this a beautiful jar to have. 22Jan18 BXCW1 For more info see:

Simply Attractive Cottonwood Serving Bowl
This fine looking cottonwood bowl
fit the words in the description very well.
It does have simple lines to it and with the natural colors of the wood
make it elegant. So, it’s a simply
elegant bowl. With the color variation
of this wood, the grays versus the lighter colors, it is no wonder that this
wood is as popular now as it was back in old west. The
wood for this bowl was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then it was
finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture, light on the shellac. I went light on this mixture so you could
still feel the grain in the wood. Yet,
doing that this bowl has a nice hard long lasting natural finish. The bowl is 12 ½” in diameter, 2” high and 1
¼” deep. The volume measured out to be
right at 6 cups filling it to the brim.
Great bowl for salads and other great goodies. The bowl comes with easy care
instructions. 21Jan18 BLCW92

Attractive Pecan Pedestal Candy Bowl
I suppose you could say that this pecan wood is re purposed. This was planned originally to be a large cake/pastry stand. The edge in areas just was not going to work as a full stand. So, being determined not to waste the wood I decided to see what would come from it and here you are! With the natural colors of pecan and the knotholes, I think this is a winner. And, so will you. Yes, the wood has it’s flaws, but the beauty of it makes up for it. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil based wax. This combination gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. The diameter is 8” with a base diameter of 4 ¼”. The height measures at 4 ¼” and the depth is 1 ½”. Though not meant to hold liquid the volume does come to measuring 1 ½ cups. Now I am not gonna tell you that you have to put M&M’s in this bowl, but you have to admit they do look good in it. 17Jan18 BLP178 For more info see:
