Folks have heard me say that everybody needs a bowl but not everybody needs a large bowl. And, this lovely bowl turned from pecan is a case in point. With a diameter of 9” it is not going to take up a lot of table space. But, with the height being 1 ¾” and depth 1 ¼” it does hold 3 cups of liquid measured to the brim. So it is rather spacious as well. Even though this bowl is really nice to look at it is also meant to be used. After all the wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with several coats of a walnut oil/shellac mixture being heavy on the shellac for more sheen. A combination such as this gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural finish. After all of that it was buffed at a high speed. 23Jan18 BLP179 For more info see:
