It makes no
difference whether you are a professional chef, a home chef, or a culinary
novice, you will love this mortar and pestle set turned from beautiful pecan
wood. You may use either end as the
grinding end and you will find either fits nicely in the palm of your
hand. The wood was sealed with food
grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mix. That combination gives this set a nice hard
long lasting natural finish. The mortar
is 5” in diameter, 2 ¼” high, and has a depth of 1 ¼”. The volume measured to exactly one cup. The pestle is 4 ½” long and generally 1 ¼” in
diameter. Certainly one of a kind so not
something to pass up. 7Jul19 VP44

A very useful implement for the kitchen, nice shape which is of simple design, no need for fancy shapes as this is designed to be used not for display. The wood needs to be of a robust type which I think pecan is, because don't forget it does take some punishment with all that grinding being done. I myself have never been a fan of this type of turning, never turned one myself, but Dave you have done a really nice job with this item, well done my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Les! They sell rather well which is the main reason I turn them. Glad you liked it.
