There are many things about this
smallish sized cottonwood bowl that make it a savory piece to own. First of all is it’s size and capacity. Measured to the brim this bowl holds 4
cups. That is a lot more than a lot of
folks think. Second thing about this
bowl is the grain patterns of the wood along with the spalting that Mamma
Nature gave it. The shape is simple yet
nice with a line burned on the outside where the lip is. You even have where it looks like a knot hole
was starting. All in all a great looking
little bowl with lots of uses. The wood
was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a mixture of
walnut oil, walnut oil based wax, and shellac.
This combination gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural
finish. So use the bowl with confidence
as a serving bowl for your salads and veggies and whatever else you put in
it. Could even be used as a personal
popcorn bowl! Never forget your popcorn. 5Sep18

Amazing Pecan Wood Natural Edge Bowl
I think amazing is a good word to
describe this smallish natural edge bowl.
Turned from pecan, the chances are really good that the bark will stay
in place. Also, this wood is quite nice
looking! When you look at the color and
grain pattern you realize that it is hard to beat. This piece is great for holding candy, nuts
and other tasty little treats. OK. Yeah.
You might also use it as a catch all bowl for keys and change. Makes no difference what you use it for it’s
gonna look good doing it. The bowl does
hold about 2 cups volume. The highest
point is 3 ¾” and has a depth of 2” measured from the lowest point. The diameter is 6”. The wood was sealed with food grade walnut
oil and then finished with spray shellac.
This was used in an effort to keep the bark in place as well as
reinforcing it with clear glue. Enjoy
this one of a kind piece! 2Sep18 NEP37

Sumptuous Pecan Wood Serving Bowl
Pecan wood has naturally sumptuous
colors and that’s all there is to it.
When you look at the different shades of colors here in this bowl along
with some spalting, you have an outstanding bowl. One nice thing about this bowl is that it
has a large capacity. Measured to the
brim it holds ¾ of a gallon. When you
consider the bowl measures 10 ½” in diameter, 4” high, and 3” deep that just
ain’t bad at all. That is a lot of
salad, veggies, or even popcorn! You may
use this bowl with confidence as the wood was sealed with food grade walnut
oil. Then it was finished using a mix of
walnut oil, walnut oil based wax, and shellac.
This combination gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting natural
finish. Whether you use this bowl for
serving veggies or other tasty items, it will look excellent sitting on your
table. 26Aug18 BLP197

Classy Pecan Wood Serving Bowl
This bowl is classy and that’s all
there is to it. After all it is turned
from pecan wood which is classy all in it’s own. Second take a look at the clean lines that
define this bowl. Kinda hard to go wrong
with it, that’s for sure. You are gonna
have to look long and hard to find a nicer bowl to be sitting on your
table. Use it as a serving bowl, a
display bowl for fruits and nuts, as a salad bowl, and many other uses. You may use it with confidence as the bowl
was sealed with food grade walnut oil. The finishing was done with a mixture of
walnut oil and shellac with the finishing cloth also dipped into some walnut
oil based wax. This helps work the
finish into the wood even more. You may
even still feel the grain of the wood some.
Using the combination that I do gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting
natural finish. The volume of the bowl
comes to 5 cups measured to the brim.

Simple Lined Pecan Serving Bowl
Some might wonder what I mean by
simple lined in referring to a bowl.
Well, to me this means that there are no fancy embellishments on the
outside or the inside of the bowl. Just
simple flowing lines that in turn make the bowl beautiful and elegant. This bowl turned from pecan wood is one of
those bowls. It has a really nice
capacity as it holds ½ gallon measured to the brim. You may use the bowl with confidence as the
wood was sealed with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut
oil/shellac mix with a little bit of walnut oil based wax mixed in. This gives the bowl a nice hard long lasting
natural finish. The bowl is 11” in
diameter, 2 ½” high and has a nice depth of just a tad under 2”. Go ahead and load this bowl up with your
favorite salads, veggies or even popcorn.
It will look good sitting wherever you put it, believe me. 12Aug18

Extraordinary Pecan Serving Bowl
Accidents happen now and then while
turning wood. Something on this bowl
that came out to be a really nice addition is a really good accident! That’s the dark line at the rim. I am not 100% sure just how it happened while
sanding, but I can only guess the sandpaper did it and I am not gonna
complain. Looks pretty good. Another nice feature about this bowl is the
knothole on the inside filled with crushed powdered turquoise. The bowl measures 8 ¾” in diameter, 2 ¾” in
height, and 2 ¼” in depth. The capacity
of this bowl measures at 5 cups. Not
bad, not bad at all! The wood was sealed
with food grade walnut oil and then finished with a walnut oil/shellac mixture. This combination gives the bowl a nice hard
long lasting natural finish. Grab this
one. Don’t let it get away. A one of a kind bowl, for sure. 2Aug18
